TOLEDO, OH - "Sarah" #1212 - Adult Sable? F (adopted)
"Sarah" was listed in the local newspaper today as being available for adoption at the Lucas County Dog Warden in Toledo, OH. She is not yet on their Petfinder site.
The new Lucas County Dog Warden does her best to get the dogs into rescue or adopted, but this is a kill shelter. All of the dogs there are given SAFER testing before being allowed to be put up for adoption, so Sarah has passed the first hurdle. There is no information given about Sarah - she looks very pretty in her photo! can anyone help sarah, all rescues i've talked to lately are fuller than full. bless your heart sarah-girl...this is the shelter the c-monster came from, they do their best but dogs here don't have long, they are always full.

spoke with "alisha" today at lucas county dog warden's office. sarah is a stray, has been there several weeks, seems to have no problem with other dogs, unknown with cats, "gulps" her food, therefore they would not adopt to family with young children for fear of food guarding. she is not sable, but black and tan. they estimate her to be 2-3 years old, but i'd need a vet estimate before i'd be comfortable with age assessment by animal control.
lucas county requires a "transfer arrangement", which apparently has paperwork and a waiting period for release to 501C3 rescues, alisha said outright adoption would be faster. can i help anyone help this girl?
