It's par for the course in both states really - but it can get worse this time of year because of the holidays. People dump their dogs in higher numbers around a major holiday like July 4th (and some dogs escape their yard because of the fireworks) - and of course that is compounded by the fact that the summer is a traditional get away time. People don't want to take their dogs with them or pay for boarding so they take them to a shelter. Happens all the time.

6 of these guys are already gone. One would like to think they found homes, but this is a shelter with a huge kill rate, and they are always full........
