Meet Casey:
He is a 6y/o, neutered, housebroken B&T that has a sad history and is now in a kill shelter !! Casey is a MDAS survivor (which by itself is enough to make me determined his life will not end at our shelter having survived the death camp at MD !!) He was rescued from MDAS @ 3y/o. The woman who saved him became gravely ill after 18 months and he was adopted by another person in N. Fl. This 2 adopter decided after a year he could no longer afford Casey and gave the poor boy to a 3rd adopter, who has also surrendered him ![]() He is good with other dogs, but we are recommending no small kids (as he was adult owned & raised). We have some of Casey's medical records and it appears he was treated for seperation anxity a few years ago. I am not seeing any sign of that in the shelter, but it's hard to get a bead on something like that in a kennel environment. He does exhibit what appears to be the early signs of hip dysplasia. I will be following up with that when our staff Vet returns next week and I will be calling all his old Vet's to determine if they took any x-rays in the past. Link to his post on our website: Animal Details ![]() Mike

Oh poor boy! I hope a rescue can step up for him. How long does he have?

I can keep him safe for a short while, but shelter is at 120% of capacity right now + short staff. Not good for those hips for him to be sharing a kennel with another GSD.
Since he has a medical issue and is a bit older, he is a target .............

Getting out of M-D alive is something of a miracle - now we need another one for this very handsome boy. Thanks for stepping up for him Mike, if anyone can find him a good home you can.
