That poor baby, look how thin she is. Will be gorgeous with some decent food though .........(and yes, TLC!)

  Jessee is a nice girl. She has a nice temperment, a bit skittish at quick movements but not that bad. She came to her run door and was anxious to come out. Guessing her age around 4 yrs old... I honestly am just taking a guess as her teeth condition could just be a reflection of her poor nuitrition and she could be younger. It's hard to tell on her... She appears to have nursed a litter of pups, and she's skin and bone as you can see.! Actually she's a larger size female. After I got to the shelter I found out it was closed today (WV Day holiday) but thank goodness an employee was kind enough to let me in when he saw me. With only two employees working I was unable to get help to test her with cats and dogs. She was totally unreactive to the other dogs when near them so expect she's going to get along OK with them. No idea on cats. Anyways, Jessee will make a nice pet with some care. THey say she knows some german commands which she did seem to semi respond to. .. the shelter is super packed....huge intakes of moms and puppies especially. Jessee is worth checking into.

My understanding is that the dogs are "generally" spayed or neutered before they leave the shelter. I do know that this shelter has vets that they work with and schedule the dogs for these surgeries before their new owners take them home.
With my Max from that shelter, they permitted me to get him neutered on my own following adoption as he had kennel cough and was not feeling well. I am a member of an established GSD rescue group that this shelter has worked with, so that probably figured in their decision to allow me to neuter him once he recovered from the kennel cough.

I don't know if they're willing to do private out of the area adoption on Jessie ... They have indicated that a home visit will be required before she can be adopted. Guessing if maybe you had rescue affiliation (approved foster or adopter) that might be acceptable to them.. just a guess. But they should answer your email soon. Probably catching up from being closed on Monday....
I really hope Jessie gets a home soon... she's confused about being in the shelter and just wants to 'go home' where ever that may end up being..
