Default Troy, OH - Shiloh BF Shy/Sweet Owner Left (listing gone)

Petfinder Adoptable Dog | German Shepherd Dog | Troy, OH | Shyloh

Shyloh is a 4 yr old German Shepherd. She is a little shy and reserved but very sweet. Shyloh is already fixed and is also current on vaccines. Shyloh was left at a local vet's office and when the owner failed to show up to pick up the dog, the vet called us. If the owner does not reclaim her, Shyloh will be available for adoption on 4-15

Seriously, they left their dog! I wonder has anyone tried to contact the owner to make sure nothing happened to them? Does not make sense that a dog that was taken care of so well would be just left like that.

It happens more often than you would think. Unfortunately, and for a number of reasons. Sometimes owners just decide they don't want the dog any more, or they don't want to/can't pay the bill, or on and on. A vets office probably seems like a safe place where the dog will be cared for. That is erroneous of course, vets aren't in the business of finding new homes for their patients (at least not usually) or taking on dependents, so the poor dog finds itself in a shelter or sometimes PTS by the vet. Let's hope that Shyloh is one of the lucky ones, and that her owner will ultimately come forward.

I have a credit card that is only used for dog emergencies. Better than any of those vet payment plans that charge nearly 24% interest. Would never leave my dog. No matter what. Just can't understand that at all.

We got Patton the same way, owner boarded him at the vet and then abandoned him. Home things work out well for this guy too.
