Love and good food and this girl will be just fine. She is beautiful. This shelter is wonderful to work with and has transports to the Northeast.

Sounds like she is in good hands for now then, but how long will they keep her? Beautiful girl.

This is a high kill shelter due to the large number of dogs they take in. I would consider her urgent.

Yes, as Stevenzachsmom says, she is urgent. The shelter posted 15 urgent dogs on Kentucky Central SITUATIONS REQUIRING IMMEDIATE ATTENTION - KY_CENTRAL. They have a very good YouTube clip on their web page that describes how this shelter works: New Page 1

In addition to their own high intake, the shelter posts dogs in high kill rural area pounds, and takes them in if they can, to give the dogs visibility and a chance. Most of the 15 are still in a rural pound in their area. Bowling Green is a very large shelter, but always overflowing, and high euthanasia rate.

Very rescue friendly (have their own rescue/transport coordinator), and they do long distance adoptions. Application process, they check references.
They do great work under challenging conditions.

Great to hear that, kudos to them. Thanks for the info - here in Colorado we don't have the same problems as you see back east, so it's sometimes hard to fathom the enormity of the problem. Shelters can be full, but we aren't dealing with the result of huge numbers of BYB's or puppy mills. At least not yet....and hopefully never.

Per Deana, the rescue coordinator - Matilda has DEFINITELY been adopted or gone to rescue.
