Narny, When shelters list an animal on Petfinder, Petfinder offers several options for an animal's status, among them 'Lost/Found'. This is sometimes done to keep a listing while removing it from a Petfinder search by the public. Here the shelter probably didn't handle the adoption anymore b/c the dog was spoken for or already transferred. You are right, if used in that way, it has nothing to do with whether the animal has been lost or found. Petfinder has no status 'transferred to another facility' (also not 'pts').
That is, his listing would have come up in a search for a male GSD in KY on Sept. 3 when I posted his listing here, but not once the shelter changed the status from adoptable to lost/found. The link is the same though, and if you bookmarked it or posted it on a web page like here, the listing does come up. I do not know this shelter, so I wouldn't know where he is. I try to post the urgent GSDs listed on KY Central here. If you are interested in adopting him, you can contact the shelter and ask which rescue he was transferred to, so you can apply for him there.
