More About 2111 ROCKY

This is "ROCKY" (avail 08/08). He was found wandering on SR 172. It appears that Rocky has a few years under his collar but still is able to play like a pup!!! He adores human interaction and seems oblivious to the other dogs. Rocky would love a home where he could curl up on thick carpet at his human's feet. His head always seems to make it's way into my lap and under my hand for a head pat!!! Rocky is very friendly and loving. He was not wearing a collar/id and no one has called to report him lost/missing. Other than a horrible case of fleas (missing fur from flea allergy), Rocky appears to be in good health for a "mature" German Sherperd!! He has been give a parvo/distemper (7-way) vaccine and has been wormed for 3 days with panacur.

He is scheduled to be euthanized on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11TH

Our adoption fee is $100 CASH which includes his neuter, parvo/distemper, 3 days of panacur, and an Ohio dog license which will be honored throughout the state through the end of the current year.

We are open Mon-Fri 8am-12pm and 1pm-4pm and Sat 9am-12pm ******UPDATE**** If our hours are not convenient, our staff will be happy to set up a visitation/adoption appointment any Thursday evening in addition to our usual hours.

Why is he only getting 3 days to be adopted?? I know shelters are overcrowded by that seems a bit quick.

It doesn't say when he was picked up, so he could have been there longer. He is available on the 8th, but they could have been spending some time evaluating him. He looks so incredibly sweet, and it really makes me very sad to think of an old dog ending up in a kill shelter, and not being loved on by his family.

There may be some pull and transport assistance available.
Columbiana is a great place to rescue from - they love rescues!!
The pull fee includes spay/neuter, DHLPP, and a rabies vaccine!!
For transport info, ask the Pound to refer you to a transport coordinator.
Once a rescue or adopter agrees to pull a dog, the dog is welcome to stay at the Pound while logistics are arranged.

The Pound is VERY, VERY rescue-friendly!! The dog warden and her deputies go above and beyond to save as many dogs as possible -
