Charlie is safe!

I've been thinking about him a lot over the last few days and after visiting him again yesterday I went over there this morning and adopted him. He'll be neutered next Tuesday and can come home Wednesday afternoon.

We lost our dog Kessler last month and I wasn't sure we were ready for another and certainly wasn't looking for another one but sometimes the best dogs are those you are not looking for.

He seems so lost in there and I can't wait for him to come home.

These photos were taken with my parents when we signed Charlie's adoption papers on Tuesday. They gave him treats and he took them ever so gently. He is such a sweet dog.
I went back in yesterday and spent some time brushing him. So much hair! He looks much better now, but skinny. Since Charlie tested heartworm negative, I gave him his first heartworm pill too. I'll be taking him straight to my vet for a check-up and senior bloodwork panel, etc. when I pick him up Wednesday afternoon.
I can't get back over there today but Monday morning I'm going back to give him a bath and get him cleaned up before his surgery.
I'm so excited and can't wait to bring Charlie home next week.
I'll keep you posted as to how he is doing and I'll take more photos when I get him home on Wednesday.
