Unhappy Mt.carmel, illinois urgent - Owner keeping dog

IT IS WITH A SAD HEART THAT I NEED TO PLACE RYDER....AS SOME OF YOU KNOW HE HAS 2 PREVIOUS BITE HISTORIES. WE HAVE BEEN WORKING VERY HARD ON TRYING TO CORRECT THIS. HOWEVER TODAY WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS TRYING TO GET OUT THE BACK GATE TO ONE OF HER FRIENDS, HE FORCED HIMSELF OUT AND ATTACKED HER FRIENDS DOG. AS OF RIGHT NOW THE OTHER DOG IS OK, BUT THEY ARE TAKING HIM TO THE VET TOMORROW. WE FEEL WE HAVE NO OPTION HERE, AND IF I CAN'T FIND SOMEPLACE FOR HIM TO GO IN THE NEXT DAY OR TWO WE WILL HAVE TO HAVE HIM PUT TO SLEEP. I KNOW WHAT EVERYONE IS THINKING AND I HOPE YOU PUT YOUR JUDGEMENTS ASIDE AND HELP.
HE IS GOING TO BE 3 YEARS OLD ON APRIL 23RD, HE IS NEUTERED, UTD ON ALL SHOTS, HOUSE BROKE, CRATE TRAINED(ALTHOUGH HE DOESN'T USE ONE ANYMORE), HE PULLS LIKE CRAZY ON A LEASH, ESPECIALLY IF HIS FAMILY GETS TO FAR AHEAD OF HIM, OR HE IS WITHIN A COUPLE BLOCKS FROM HOME. HE HATES WATER, LOVES TO BE BRUSHED, EXCEPT FOR HIS TAIL. HE IS UTD ON FLEA MEDICINE. PLEASE NO SMALL ANIMALS, OR CATS.

I sent this page as an e-mail to our local GSD rescue here in Chicago; I also asked that our director please forward the information to any other GSD rescues in the area.

His bites are with other dogs though, correct? Not with people?

yes, however this last bite, he literally grabbed the little dog from the girls hands. I am just so afraid that he iw going to bite a child, rather it be on accident or purpose...

I don't normally recommend this, but as you don't have many options....

Do you have the resources to enroll this dog in professional training for a period of time? There is a facility here that specializes in GSD's that will take him in for a week, a month, however long you can afford and he needs. They then work with you AND him once he has training in place, and teach you how to handle him. If at that point you still feel he is too much, perhaps the professional evaluation and training will assist in placement.

Don't litter. Spay & neuter your pets. Save a life, consider adoption first!
