No I don't have the resources for that...We honestly don't trust him since all this has happened. We have decided that tomorrow i will be making an appointment to have him euthanized.

Don't trust him? Meaning you think he'll attack YOU out of nowhere?
Dog Aggression has NOTHING to do with human aggression.

It is simple to manage.

Don't take him into pet stores.
Muzzle at the vet.
NO being outside without an adult.
Always leashed when not fenced...
Dog aggression is EASILY managed! Don't kill him for being a dog!

You can't afford training, but you keep getting new dogs. What!?

Pretend you are FOSTERING him. Keep him kenneled if you are scared of him, take him out to potty and exercise, and work HARD to place him. How many other sites and rescues have you contacted? DA is very common. My boy has been DA forever. I manage. I don't let him outside without me, and I don't take him out off lead, that's all there is to it. I would never dream of killing him because of DA.

Yes, just because he attacked another dog does not mean he will attack you. Dont put him down, ABPTLOVE IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT, THERE ARE WAYS TO AVOID THAT!!!!! Can someone please save this dog before this women puts him to sleep for basically no reason!?

I also agree with managing dog aggression. I also have a dog-agressive GSD (in my pack of four) but he is so people friendly. Dog aggression is hard work but it is managable!! To start it is easy - do not allow him around other dogs!

my2bigboys , have you specifically contacted a rescue to try to figure out if someone can foster and work with your dog? To kill him if he is good with people/kids and probably can do well with dogs with some normal training and socialization seems a bit extreme.......................................... Hate to be your vet to have a happy healthy GSD come bouncing in and you want to give up and just kill it.

In my opinion the OP shouldn't have dogs. If you have a normally well behaved dog that doesn't like other dogs and you have no desire to train him or prevent him from being around other dogs than you do not deserve to have one. If he is people friendly he should not be put down. This is just making me angry.

Instead of getting angry, there a chance you can help get them in contact with some help to buy the dog more time. You at least live in the same state....

I am only seeing a rescue in Central Illinois. The OP said yesterday that she made an appt for the dog to be PTS today. What if it's too late?
