What I am thinking right now is not suitable for posting on public boards. Grrrrr.

Thank you MAGSR! I'm betting those pups are going to turn out looking mostly Shepherd. Shame, my clients would have loved "Helping socialize' some of those little guys/gals! lol

RIP to the little ones that didn't make it, you deserved better....

That is true in a sense Mark. But they only have about 10 puppy runs in their puppy room and they are teensy tiny 'runs' which hold only one puppy each. This isn't a very large shelter. This is the Raleigh County shelter not Mercer Co. I'm not defending them and saying it was alright that they did that . . . it wasn't. They do get overly attached to some of the adult dogs and give them extra time to find a home. I've got a little terrierX girl with me right now going to rescue who IS one of those dogs... they just couldn't put her down when her hold time was up ...I see why after having spent a few days with her.. she's such an endearing little dog. Many puppies get adopted on a whim and once they outgrow their cuteness they get neglected, let run loose and back in the shelter or worse. Not all, but a lot of them do.
There's never a good choice in deciding which to pts I'm sure and I don't even like to think about having to do that... I do wish they had waited one more day though as it didn't look like keeping all ten one or two more days would have mattered. But the remaining babies will have wonderful lives to look forward to when they get adopted.

MoM and PuPs have been picked up from the shelter and are in route to their new foster home!!!!

Please keep this little family in your thoughts & prayers. We lost one of the pups this am and mom and the remaining four pups tested positive for Parvo.....

Momma and the four remaining pups made it through the night. The pups are holding their own: Momma is vomiting, not doing as well but is still with us.
