The kicker is you are so far from us in Wisconsin. However, if you could make arrangements to transport the dog to either Chicago or Milwaukee we might be able to get this.

Perhaps there is a transport group in your area that could help.

For more info, please send me a personal E Mail. I can tell you this. If our rescue takes the dog, Taegan will be placed in a good home.

Kimberly -

I know that you are in New York, but please check out Chuck Stella's web site for contact info at http://www.eliteK911.com. He specializes in fostering dogs with issues, working with them, and then adopting them out through his rescue (Dog Adopt Grapevine on PetFinder) , and also owns his own training facility. I have heard only rave reviews about him. He has successfully rehabilitated many, many dogs, including severely abused pitties and has rescued dogs from all over - sometimes literally talking abusive or neglectful owners (including collectors) into surrendering their dogs.

I almost adopted a GSD from his rescue in December, but had already committed to my Diablo from the SPCA. Jack (the GSD) was quickly adopted by another family.

We are in NE Ohio - just west of Cleveland. Chuck is a tireless advocate for dog rehabilitation and NY is not that far away. Perhaps it would help to give him a call and see if he would be willing to foster, rehabilitate, and post Taegan for you. Good Luck and God Bless!

Quick update:

Taegan is now a BDBH boy. Kimberly and Taegan waited for us to have the appropriate experienced foster home open for Taegan.

He has been in his foster home since Saturday and is doing well. He is having fun with the other dogs in the pack, especially his foster mom's other BDBH foster, Nash, a GSD from TN!

We will update more, but we are very pleased with how well Taegan is adjusting so far.

Wanted to update on Taegan, who has been in his forever home for several weeks now and is doing so well:

Here are some pictures from a recent vacation trip. He looks very happy! He is being well socialized with people and has dog friends for play dates!

We know for certain how much he is adored and cared for - he has really blossomed and adjusted well.

BDBH's foster mom, did a great job in helping him and with placement.

Taegan's first mom, did a very loving thing for him and I updated her on this update before posting.

I am so happy to hear this great news! I'm happy for Teagan and his new life and for his first mom, too. Sometimes a dog and a person can be just a mismatch and it would be selfish to not let the dog go.

Darcy, I know you have a million other things going on, but thank you so much for taking the time to update the threads on these dogs. I don't always respond, but I ALWAYS read the updates. To me they are just as heartwarming as the original rescue of the dog was.

Taegan is a gorgeous boy and I'm very happy for everyone involved that he's found his forever home. I'm sure Taegan's first mom is so relieved to know he's safe and obviously very much loved...

Thank you Kris, but honestly, it is one of the best parts of rescue - fosters take pride and get great joy from the part they play in their foster's life. These updates bring a smile to all our faces.

Very well said... and so true!!

I think every time I see a wonderful update of a dog who's life I touched even briefly... it inspires me to keep doing it. Without updates, it's hard to know if your time, energy and especially emotion was worth it to the dog. To me personally, the updates are of far greater value than the initial rescue stuff (although that's good stuff too!)
