I saw several threads in the New member forum from people in So Cal.

I wanted to recommend an excellent trainer, he trains the Law Enforcement Canines, so the GSD is what he works with most.

I took two of my dogs to private lessons with him. I was surprised to see how quickly the dogs picked up what to do. I was the one who needed training. Once I figured out what to do, it was great!

The place is called Fon Jon Pet Care Center & Dog Training, they have two locations, one in the North County area and one down by the beach. The trainer I recommend, his name is Joel. He really knows his stuff.

I do not know about the Pet Care Centers, I have seen good and not so good reviews on line. But I know the trainer, Joel is very good.

Hey, San Diego. My daughter is stationed at Miramar Marine Base!

Back in Michigan, I'm taking my GSD to a guy who trains Law Enforcement too. Gunny's had the basic obedience and has done very well, but I wanted someone who works with GSDs. We start this Thursday and I'm very excited.
