Default Where to start Looking?

I want to enroll my future puppy into classes, but I have no idea where to start looking. Even if it's just to socialize, I'd be fine with that.

Then, after that, when he's old enough, I'd like to get him started in agility and Schutzhund. I haven't the foggiest where to start looking for either of those.

Also, can anyone give me a rough average of how much agility training and Schutzhund training costs?

For agility, I was thinking to build my own course and set it up in my backyard first, then move to the public park across the street to get him used to distractions. How could I build a teeter-totter, though?

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Many clubs are an average of an hour drive, so be prepared to travel for training. Add a travel crate to your list!
Have you done a net search in your general area? If you post it, some members here can fill you in on good training clubs in your area.
Clubs vary price-wise, depends on where you live. Most beginning puppy classes run 6-8 weeks and cost around $100 give or take.
SchH clubs are hard to pinpoint as far as cost. But usually SchH training isn't cheap!

Pups can get familiar w/agility equipment, but shouldn'd be jumping til the are at least a yr old.

In my area you join a Schutzhund club for about $250 a year and meet once or twice a week.

For agility, find an agility club, or an AKC dog training club in your area. At my club, 8 week lessons cost $95 for non-members, and $25 for members. And you will take many, many 8 week sessions for training. (My membership fee is $50 a year and that allows access to the building for training during non-class times.)

Since I don'tknow where you are in AZ, here is that AKC club search page.

This page should help you find a SchH club.

I thought that'd be the case, but I was thinking about getting some stuff to build a little course just to get him used to going through hoops and over bars, but not actually jumping through/over them. I'm sure I can get some cheap PVC pipes and a hula hoop at Wal-Mart. Oh, the many uses of PVC pipes....
Especially for a pole weave!

Thanks for the links, Carole!
