Default Sick Puppy on Blue Buffalo, maybe switching to Innova Large Breed Puppy?

When I got Khaleesi from her first family she was on Science Diet. She was in really bad shape. She was so skinny you could see her ribs (no puppy fat on that 10 week old baby), she was really dehydrated, and she had really bad dandruff. She also had a HUGE tapeworm and was a little scared of people. Needless to say, she had been seriously neglected. I don't think she actually had any diarrhea that I can remember. I wanted to give her what I thought was the "best" puppy food to help her recover and put on some weight. To me that meant Blue Buffalo.

I've had two experiences with Blue Buffalo. The first one, when I was in college, was actually with a cat I had on Blue. He did great, thrived, and grew to be a monster of a cat. Like giant fluffy love ball of a kitteh. That was several years ago, back when BB was really new.

More recently, I switched Khaleesi from Science Diet to BB Wilderness for Puppies. I honestly started thinking she might be a sickly dog. When she wasn't having diarrhea, she was having loose stools with the consistency of thick pudding. When she was really active, she would have really bad diarrhea with a little blood! I freaked out, sure she was dying of Parvo, and took her to the vet, but nothing was wrong. No parasites, she wasn't sick... I didn't know what to do. She was constantly scratching her skin (especially her paws) and she had a rash break out on her tummy I thought she had laid in an ant pile or something. The worst thing is that she injured her leg about a month ago and it just doesn't seem to be healing like it should. It never occurred to me that it could be the food until I stumbled upon this:

Top 552 Complaints and Reviews about Blue Buffalo Pet Foods

Some of the complaints in there are IDENTICAL to the problems my sweet girl is having. After her last episode of crazy diarrhea, I've put her on a bland diet. Once her stomach calms down, I'm planning on slowly switching to Innova Large Breed Puppy.

Does anyone have any experience with Innova? I don't want to switch her from one bad food right to another, but I'm not really ready to do a raw diet yet. Any experience or advice would be welcome

i'm not a dog nutritionist but i can't feed my dog anything from the supermarket including blue. gives my dog the runs. the only thing i found that gives my dogs nice and hard poops is nature's variety instinct. you could also try beating your dog when it has runny poops. that sometimes helps.

Right now my puppy has been doing super well on Wellness Core Puppy. They have it at the Petsmart. She and the rest of the litter had a bit of problems with some other good brands but this has worked out really well.
