Puppy Food

I was told by my vet in the next week to start introducing either wet canned food or wetted dry food. Are "All life stages" foods like merrick okay or what? I don't really like Royal Canine, which is what my vet recommended because i've had multiple dogs in the past completely intolerant (allergy-wise) of it.
