4 Month Old Female GSD Eating Habits
This is my first German Shepherd Puppy. She turned 4 months two days ago. Has been wormed, and only has one more set of puppy shots to go administered by a vet. Full blooded GSD from a breeder.
She is eating 4-6 cups a day of Blue Wilderness Large Breed Puppy.
Is that too much? We have almost finished off a 24lb bag of just her eating it in a little over a month. Normal? No other animals in the household she is the only one eating her food.

Thanks in advance for any advise!

Totally depends on her.

For some dogs yes, that would be too much... but if she's growing but not getting overweight... then I wouldn't worry too much about it. It will taper off and get less once she's an adult and not a growing puppy. :)

I would say yes, I have never fed any of my puppies that much at that age.

By that age, mine were getting probably about 1.5 cups if that, twice a day. Around 6 mths I upped it to 2 C per day and thats what they get as adults..

I looked up online my Female GSD is 3 months and it said until they are 6 months old feed them 1/2 cup 3x a day. Or 3/4 a cup 3x a day depending on if you are training with treats and activity level. I don't stick to it to much some days she is more hungry than others but I try to keep it close she is still getting quite the cute round belly! :)

Attachment 194914 this skinny monster was eating 4-6 cups every day, of Fromm. When they are younger, then down it, and will slowly cut back as they need less for when they stop growing. As long as it's at a healthy weight, it doesn't matter how much you give

Take a look at her. If she is a little thin; you can see her last ribs shine through her coat, and feel her spine when you pet her gently, she is OK, no matter how much she eats.
I never measure the amount, just look at them before I decide how much I feed them.
