Feeding Parvo Puppy

Hi everyone,

I used to post here a few years ago until we lost our beloved GSD....
Last week we brought home a foster/adopt GSDX rescue pup; unfortunately within 12 hours we were at the vet and he had Parvo. He is still fighting, but seems to be starting to overcome the hump and we are hoping to bring him home soon. With that in mind we are trying to prepare. I know we will need to take the transition very slowly and I am thinking boiled rice/hamburger at first (and/or whatever the vet recommends), but once he is dong better and holding down food I'm trying to decide what food to go with, especially given he has suffered such a serious health issue! In the past we have always fed Orijen/Acana, I'm worried these may be too rich for him to handle but I also want to ensure he is getting really good quality food! I know the rescue basially throws whatever is available and there is no standard food to transition from. Any thoughts/recommendations??

Thank you (I remember there is so much great experience and info here):)

Welcome back! Sorry about your puppy. I would recommend Solid Gold Wolfcub.
