I am having trouble deciding what to feed my puppy due to all of the mixed reviews I'm hearing. He is on wellness core puppy and has been doing very well. I am concerned about the calcium and phos levels. I would prefer to feed him a grain free food like origin LBP but it is more expensive. Has anyone else tried wellness core puppy? I have also been researching earthborn holistic and TOTW puppy. Are any of these safe? Just looks g for a good grain free food with safe cal/phos levels. Thanks

I would not necessarily avoid grains, we actually chose Wellness puppy with grains as I liked the ingredients better.
Rice is considered a "safer" grain than wheat or corn, and brown rice would not be a bad choice, either. Is there a specific reason you're avoiding all grains? |

We have two Shepherds now and are getting a puppy next week.We feed our dogs Taste of the Wild because one has EPI and the vet said to get no grain food so it would help him keep weight on and it works and they both love it.
I went to a pet food store for advice for the puppy and the girl thought TOTW was good but she recommended Orijen for all three dogs.So we will go back and talk some more and probably get that stuff. Hope that might help a little. |
