Hey all, I'm new to the forum, but our puppy who is 13 weeks has had chronic diarrhea since we brought her home. We've been feeding Blue chicken and brown rice puppy formula.
The vet said there are no parasites and tested negative for Gardia. I read on here other puppies with similar issues switching to Blue Basics Salmon formula. My wife and I went ahead and thought we'd give it a shot, but we are concerned about the lack of DHA, and some of the slight changes in fat and protein content. We've had 3 feedings with the new food and shes already starting to get solid waste, not quite there, but almost. If we supplement the food with puppy treats containing DHA, would this make up for the lack of some of the nutrients that puppy foods contain? Just curious what others thoughts are. I know if her digestive system isn't working properly she's not going to be getting all the nutrients from the food anyway. |

Try a probiotic. (found at Petsmart) It really helps with Salem's tummy issues. Also had the same problem with Salem. I switch to Salmon (Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach and Skin)... Past eight months have not had one tummy issue and Nice thick soft fur.
