I have a 72lb 8 month old and the was recently wondering when, or even why I should switch to once a day feedings.
- twice a day, roughly around 0500 and 1700 seem to be working just fine for him - he gets 1lb of raw meat and some veggies/fruit at each sitting Any thoughts? |

You don't ever "have" to or "need" to if you don't want to. My 1 year old and 9 1/2 year old eat 3x a day. At 8 months you probably could switch to once a day if you wanted to, but bear in mind that larger meals increase the risk of bloat.

i feed my dog twice a day.
he's fed in the am and pm. i like feeding him twice a day rather than 1 big meal once a day. he's fed 1 cup with things added in the am and 1 cup in the pm with things added. he gets a snack throughout the day.

I tried to feed once a day, but around nighttime, they would come look at me longingly so I switched to 2x/day. Also there were some diarrhea and digestion issues that cleared up when I went to 2x/day.
