Default Super solid stools.

This is second time this has happened. Hotch is 16 weeks and he's on Bravo raw meat. I feed him the pre package 8ounce patties twice a day and during the afternoon I'll give him either Bravo buffalo or ostrich chubs. He's doing really but last night he was pooping and his stools were trying to come out but he had a hard time cause it was solid and super firm and it's hurting his poor behind which makes me feel really bad. Which cause to scream and yell like he just got ranned over by a moving vehicle. What should I do? He's free from all viruses. Any suggestion would help! Thanks!

Give him some pureed pumpkin. Worked for my dog when he was constipated. Maybe your pup needs more water too.

How much pumpkin would you recommend? Also he doesn't go for water that much cause he's always inside in the cool temps. I leave a dish full but doesn't drink it, but **** when he eats HE EATS!

Here's Hotch @ 15 weeks:

They dont drink as much water when their diet contains enough of it. You will find that on the raw diet. His stools are possibly hard from bone. Too much bone will cause hard, dry stools. When the stool dries, is it mostly white? The white is the bone content, and it shouldnt be all white, enless that is the part of the raw diet you had fed recently.

I am not familiar with the Bravo brand. Can you list the contents percentages? Maybe you need to feed more plain meat with what you are giving to balance it out.
