Hello all. My name is Jesse and I've noticed there isnt really any GSD clubs or groups in the area. I think that there should be.
So Im starting this thread to see who might be interested in meeting up. I live in the San Fernando Valley near Burbank. I have an 8 month old male GSD. He is too big for the small or timid side of the dog park. I really dont like the big side. Too many irresponsible owners over there. So I want to meet up with people who love the GSD. Who's dogs that actually have training and are socialized. Also people that are interested in SchH. People that have experience with this and might know how to start a club in the area. Since there isnt any within an hour in either direction. So I hope to hear from some L.A GSD lovers. Lets get this going. At least a meet up. |

hey there... SFV here as well and i'm always up for a meet (too bad our dog parks are only mediocre and la county beaches don't allow dogs).
i'm not sure which side of burbank you're on... but there is a group of us who meet in the evenings in encino. (not gsd specific, but a smaller, mild mannered crowd, who like to avoid dog parks). you can pm me for info if its not too out of the way for you. as far as SchH info -- you may want to contact Anne Kent over at Adlerstein... she's up towards magic mountain area (also a member here, but i don't know her screen name off the top of my head) other than that... there are other so cal members here... but to my knowledge a formal 'meet' has never been pulled together. there is a member that i get together with regularly when she's in town... but i've sort of latched on to the bay area crew (my hometown) since im up there so frequently. would be nice to have a local group!

Thanks for that info on that club. Its only about a half hour from my house. Are you a member?
Well hopefully more people speak up and want to get a formal meet going. A local group would be great. I know what you mean about our parks being mediocre. They pretty much suck. I emailed Anne and sent you a pm. I guess we just gotta wait and see what happens. |

meets generally happen in the spring/summer as thats when the weather is warmer and more dependable... i keep a list of all the norcal members, if you'd like i'll add your name to it and make sure you're notified the next time we get together. (here are photos from our last meet: http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...page=0&fpart=1 make sure to scroll thru the entire thread as several members made photo contributions) jesse--don't worry, you'll get some more hits sooner or later. the events forum just doesn't get as much traffic as some of the others.

I replied to one of your other posts in another thread, but wanted to say hello again. I'm in the 909 area code but would love to meet up. I have a 10 yr old male GSD and an 18 mo old female GSD.
