Default SAR City 2009

I'll be teaching three classes at SAR City this year. The dates this year are October 9, 10, 11.

One is an Ecollar seminar It's an eight hour class. The second class is on Building Search for SAR and the third class is on Scent Theory – How Scent is Produced and How it Spreads.

All classes will consist of some classroom and some practical work.

SAR City is the largest gathering of SAR folks that takes place annually in California. Details can be found HERE.

If anyone is interested please contact me privately, not on the list.

In the Ecollar class I'll be discussing

1. The history of Ecollars
2. Use of the Ecollar in SAR
3. Crittering
4. Search tactics
5. False alerts
6. Dog to dog aggression and more.

The Building search class will cover

1. Differences between Area Searches and Building Searches
2. Air currents in buildings
3. The topology of building searches
4. Two essential concepts
5. Special problems in buildings
6. How to search a building so as to leave "no stone unturned"

The Scent Theory class will cover;

1. How scent is produced in humans
2. The human "scent pump"
3. How air currents carry and spread scent
4. How natural obstacles influence the spread of scent

Sounds like a very large event -- over 100 instructors and over 50 classes. Sounds huge.
