Typically this is VERY discouraged at SchH trials. Dogs who are not trialing must be kept crated in vehicles and are not allowed anywhere near the trial field. They can come out to potty or socialize a bit at lunch, but that's it. All dogs but the ones taking their turn on the field are to be kept put up. Dogs are not allowed to just hang out when the trial is going on.
Would there be room to set up a shade tent/crates so the dogs could be away from everything but still cool? I trial in agility thru the end of June and they are fine. I do NOT leave them in the car though....

Even without the trees...

Hi Jen!

As the date gets closer, we will have to make some arrangements to meet up.

I am not sure of the exact location either....I swear I overheard someone say something about Lehigh University, but maybe they were talking about somethign else. I'll see if anyone at training knows.

I think it is that, plus the additional extra dogs that end up. There seems to be always an issue at one of the hotels or at the grounds with a non-competitor dog. Most are not used to that extent of traveling.

But, there is normally a rule at the trials that the non-entered dogs should not be there.

Yes, this is typically true of SchH trials, but as I'm reading this thread, I thought I'd throw this in. SDA trials are very different from SchH trials in this aspect. Dogs are expected to work in spite of the distraction of other dogs. I've competed where dogs and spectators are lined up all along the edge of the field, had to weave through a crowd of handlers and dogs while trying to enter the field, etc. Also, don't be suprised if there are alot of people on the field (judge, announcers, stewards, photographers) - it happens.

Different sport. I only mention this because more and more SchH people are getting involved in SDA, and this is a big difference in the trial environment.
