Default Fur saver?

My dog's collar makes the fur on his neck look flat and ugly so I was thinking about getting one. People say you can use it on the dead ring so it doesn't actually work as a choke chain, but some say that they're not designed to be used that way so you shouldn't trust it to work.

Do you use one? What do you think of them?

you're thinking of the choke chain. the fursaver doesn't have a live ring as far as I know.

Fursaver does have a live ring, but noone ever uses it as a correction type collar, and seldom if ever hook the line to the live ring. I personally only have one because it is what IPO trial regulations require. So it goes on the dog every session but only gets hooked up(dead ring) when we track.

I use one all the time, snap line on any link, I never look for the rings, just snap on any oval link. Works like a flat collar and easiest collar in the world to snap a line on. Did I mention snap on any link?

Yup. I use it just like Packen. Hook it up wherever. I also got purple for both of my boys. They look sharp.

I was looking at them too. I love leather but even though GSDs are not really long fur I hate how it separates their fur...
