Has anyone used these prong collars?

Custom braided kangaroo dog show leads and Herm Sprenger prong collars with quick release|Leashes by Design

I like that they still have the martingale chain even though they have a side buckle. Are they well-made?

I use Herm Sprenger prong collars, they are very well made and good quality. I have not heard good things about the quick release feature, but I have not personally had any experience.

I use the regular HS without the quick release, and a back up collar for safety.

This is a NEW kind of quick release and I LIKE the idea! I hate that alligator snap thing which, to me, was prone to fail and made it harder to put on the collar than just squeezing the prongs.

Wish there was a way just to buy the assembly and transfer your links over . I would sure like to try one!

AHA I see this is an aftermarket invention this person came up with and not a HS component. I still like it. It looks like you could actually do the mod yourself with some pliers and s-hooks and a buckle

I just got in this quick release Herm Sprenger

I was having a terrible time with my other heavy duty Sprenger prong. It was almost impossible for me to manipulate. So far I've had no issue with the new one coming undone. I especially like it for quick trips to the yard for some obedience work. I may still use the other for classes. I can't get as close a fit with the new one ... or at least, taking a link out seems to make it too snug.

Looking at the images more closely, I can see how it was done. That shouldn't be hard to replicate at all.
