Empire will be a year old in a couple of weeks. Today I wanted to see if he'd enjoy a jog around the neighborhood so I hopped on my bike to see how he would react. He was all over the place, so I switched to his prong and he jogged perfectly.
I am definitely going to going to order an attachment for my bike do don't have to hold the leash.
Can anyone recommend either the Bike Tow Leash or the Walky Dog?
We only had one ride, so I can't tell in he enjoyed it yet. Next time I'll be able to see if he's looking forward to it now that he knows what we're doing.
I am excited to see this thread. I bike ride with my GSD, but I just have him on a leash. I can't wait to get a walky dog or tow leash. It looks way easier.
My dog does ok with cats, but he really has it in for squirrels. Just holding the leash means I have to be on high alert for them as we ride. He has darted in front of the bike a few times, but neither of us were seriously injured. I think he has learned not to do that anymore.
I'm really excited by these reviews. I'm definitely going to look in to getting something for my bike. My GSD is a chaser of anything that moves but loved the bike run I took her on so hopefully something like this will help gets us out more often.
Mine is obedient on lead but I want both hands on the handlebars and know that any movement by the dog is amplified if you are holding a line not to mention heads can turn into wheels and cranks and that can be very nasty. From a physics standpoint, even though the tow bar is more expensive, I do like how it is mounted lower. I would not let the dog pull though and would use a heavy collar. (I have a 2 inch leather collar I would use)
I had a friend cut off the snout of a dog (obviously not intentionally dog ran into his front wheel while he was on a fast downhill run...killed the dog and messed him up pretty bad)

I got my first bike helmet in 1979.... I worked at a bicycle shop and I saw plenty including the one the guy brought in it was split into and covered in blood it saved his life when he went through the windshield of the car back then the helmet companies would give you a free one if you would return the broken one for research purposes
Sorry apparently Google Voice does not know punctuation. I am talking to my phone. I now realize I have to dictate the punctuation marks.
