hmm...we used a simple travel crate (from PetSmart) for the bed of our pickup. Zeeva gets motion sickness but it worked fine...Smokey was left to roam the bed un-crated...

I would personally not use one unless I was getting an actual dog box. Welded type box. Fairly expensive. None are necessarily that safe in the back of a vehicle. I wouldn't let a child ride back there... and I don't want my dog thrown out or smushed either.

Owens 55033

Running Boards, Truck Tool Boxes, Aluminum Dog Boxes, Owens Products

About as cheap as you are going to get for a welded box. Mine is under a camper shell.

Don't know if 2 would fit side by side between the wheel wells because I use a platform with drawers under it that just clears the wells. Owens does sell double boxes.

Roughly $500 each. Best to find a dealer for free shipping (wait until they make an order) They go freight

The problem with metal dog boxes is they are sized small for most GSDs, particularly doubles. Hunt dog boxes also tend to not be very tall for a dog to stand up. You can get anything you want for the right amount of money though.
