I found this 'gear bag'. My only thought is that if things get tangled up, but I guess I can use things to wrap a long line, etc. so it doesn't become a mess. I'm wondering if this bag is big enough to not only carry the equipment, but also use as a first aid bag?

I'm going to go with no...
This is the bag I have for utility articles/gloves and my regular AKC obedience dumbbell. J and J Dog Supplies: Nylon Mesh Article Bag The dimensions are pretty much the same as the bag you posted and its pretty much full once I put a leash or two and another collar in there for agility. There is no way I get a tracking harness, long lead, or even a water bottle for the dog in there and then comfortably be able to take things out without spilling everything out just to get one thing.

Well, shoot. Thanks for the heads up! I wonder if I used the bag I linked to just for equipment and used a separate bag for first aid?

It's possible...but I suggest just one large bag. I'm not sure 100% what the other equipment you might have for Schutzhund...but if you get one of those large dumbbells and a few more harnesses/leashes, that bag will shrink really really fast.
Try going for a larger gym bag of some sort maybe?

I have two of these -- one for each dog I am training. I also have the roller bad for conformation showing.

I have a long line, agitation harness, agitation collar, prong, martingale, hard dog muzzle, then I'd have a ball and other small items. I don't plan to carry dumbbells, or at least not anytime soon. I don't have the first aid stuff yet, but I think a smaller bag for that stuff would work better. I'll probably use another harness for tracking, also.

I utilize actual tool bags. One bag I have all of my first aid materials in. That way in the event of an emergancy, I have everything in front of me and don't have to dig for anything.
The other tool bag is for equipment. If I'm going to an event that requires for me to be out of town, I have a larger tool box that is on rollers. I put all of my supplies, including both bags into that box. I have a truck so it packs nicely in the bed and is water proof. I always carry extra everything. Bad habit from my horse showing days.

I usually just use big Nike duffle bags if I need to transport anything. But I also have a shelving rack thing in my car which is where most of my stuff stays.

I use one large backpack (with divided areas). When I get to where I am going I open it on top of a crate or chair so that things are more accessible.
Many people I know clip all leashes to crates. But I often have a wire crate the dog can reach through so that is a no-go as I do not want them chewed.
