collars with spikes
are you for them or against them???..
|
prong collars?
For them, when used properly as a training tool |
no collars with spikes...theyre leather with spikes on them..
|
they may be useful if you live in a neighborhood with a lot of loose dogs. They prevent an attacking dog from grabbing your dogs neck.
|
Yes, it's to protect the dog from attacks from other dogs or wild animals.
It's not something to be for or against. It's just something that is. Of course, a lot of people have them just to make their dogs look cool. Actully, they do look cool! ;) |
if you mean collars with spikes on the outside of the collar
i'm against them. i'm not really a fan of prongs. i think a lot of people look forward to a device instead of training. |

And that is why this forum is invaluable. I had no idea. Thing is, I thought it would 1) make people think my dog is aggressive and 2) be an injury risk to me if I happen to need to grab him by the collar... |
Turkish Collars:eek:
Different regions of Turkey feature collar styles unique to the areas; commensurate with the individual style and skill of the ironsmith as well as the quality of materials at hand. Iron, other metals, even wood in the poorer locales have been used to fashion spike collars. Here, Aslan models one of the most common types of collars seen on Turkish guardian dogs. It is made of iron, and quite heavy. Since the spike collars are fit to the neck quite snugly, or the dog matures and fills the collar, Anatolians exported from Turkey, who have worn these collars, have sometimes had to be sedated to facilitate cutting to remove their collars. http://www.cobankopegi.com/colla000.jpg |

|
Ok maybe you do mean spikes
Hope that dog doesn't try and scratch himself Really that is absurd, you'll get a hole in the leg walking that |
