Electronic Dog Door
 

Hi,

I haven't been on this forum for awhile... moved and getting settled in. I have been pondering getting a dog door for my 2 guys and have been reading about the electronic doors which offers somewhat of a secure door as far as other animals getting in.

My only reason for getting a dog door would be for while I'm at work. I moved further away from my job and I've been paying someone to let my dogs out (in the fenced yard) for a bathroom break. I need to search for a new person to let the dogs out and have called several companies - all were very nice, but range from $280 - 380 a month. Over a year... it's expensive and was thinking that paying for an electronic dog door and the install would be more cost effective. I would most likely be putting the door in a sliding patio door.

Solo makes one and Power Pet I think makes the other... although the reviews on the collar for the Power Pet were not good. The collar seems to not be made well. Solo has a magnetic collar tag which is more reliable - from what I have read.

Just curious if anyone uses a dog door or an electronic one... any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
