Dogs pull until you let them know it's not allowed. Prongs are not a substitute for training. I'm okay with them as a temporary measure if your dog is too strong for you.

I like prong better. I just think mild pain makes more sense to the dog than asphyxiation. A lot of dogs I know will keep on pulling even though they are making choking noises. I end up just feeling really bad for them.
