I'm looking to get Koda a backpack for when we go on hikes, but I don't know the first thing about them. Can anyone recommend a good brand that I can look into? Thanks!

i just rehomed an Ollie pack. i'm going to buy
the Approach pack. make sure you find out what's a safe weight for your dog to carry and build up to that weight.

The consensus seems to be that you should be able to slip your hand (flat to the dog's body) under the straps. From there you adjust as needed. If the load is balanced as it should be, there shouldn't be too much trouble with it twisting.
Starting from that point (able to slip my hand under the straps), after a mile or so I stop to adjust Z's packstraps. I usually have to loosen the middle and rear straps just a tad. |
