I wound up with one of these balls and while I don't like the type with the planet on it (the continents keep coming off) I do like the way it cleans up and is squishy and easy on the mouth.
How do the 3inch or 3.25 inch ones work with the large chuckit. Do the plain ones have the same material as the planet ones (softness, durability) Thanks for any insight.

I like using the giggle ball with the chuck it! It has more weight to it and can be thrown further then all her other balls(kong tennis balls, planets, and chick it rubber balls) Giggle Ball Dog Toy - 3 Diameter

Thanks for the insight. I don't leave them laying around as chew toys so I will check with planet dog and see.

Conor is a very aggressive chewer, but it takes him quite a while to get the "continents" off the balls - Planet Dog makes a lot of different types of balls however, if you don't like the Orbees. (I also have the soccer and footballs, though these wouldn't fit a ChuckIt). They are the only balls I will buy, because they are made in the USA and are non-toxic.

Our destructo-dog, Conan ("the Destroyer" Dachshund) can get the continents off but only after a few weeks of working with it. The rest of the ball is fine and the loss of continents don't make it weaker.
Target.com : Furniture, Baby, Electronics, Toys,...: Target has GREAT buys on them, we got a tennis ball pack (planet dog) and he can't shred those. I mean, this is a dog that has wrecked or ruined every other toy on earth. They are the only things that last. The Tennis ball ones are mint scented ![]() The woof ones don't have continents. http://www.target.com/s?searchTerm=p...all+categories

Halo just got the last of the planets off a new Orbee I got a couple of months ago, but there's one that's older that still has all the planets intact. My dogs like to chew them, and I do usually have a couple laying around. They just lay on the floor and *squish squish squish* them, it's like a pacifier. Their balls are the same soft rubber, with or without planets.
I've never tried using one with a Chuck it because our yard is too small to throw a ball - Chuck it goes to the park, and Planet Dog balls are too expensive to lose. I do use the ones on a rope, but you can't throw them quite as far. Planet Dog has their own version of a Chuck it that works with their balls, so that's an option too. You could also probably send them an email and ask, I'm sure they'd tell you which size would work in a Chuck it.

I got the Orbee - the one with the continents - for Christmas the year before last and it took my dog approximately 30 minutes to pull half of the continents off it. I was very disappointed because I'd heard great things about them and I was thrilled to get one for Christmas.
I did email the company and they said that they don't recommend that one for "heavy chewers" and offered to replace it for free. They recommended the DiamondTough one they make, so I got one of those in orange. It's one of Ronja's favorite toys. She loves that thing. It's "squishy" (not hard rubber like a Kong) but even after over a year, it has no damage and she loves to chomp down on it. It is the same size as my Large glow-in-the-dark ChuckIt ball, so if your ChuckIt launcher takes that size, I suppose that would work without a lot of problems. |

Thank you. I will contact them because their web page does not give that kind of warning. My dogs are not even having it as a chew toy but it is just from playing fetch with it.

Europe just came off of Rafi's ball yesterday. He doesn't chew the ball at home but he carries it on walks and if he sees a squirrel or rabbit he transfers his excitement onto the ball.
![]() He has just about every type of Planet Dog ball made. They last better than any other ball. I used to get only the 5 chompers balls but now that he is a little older he is easier on them so he can have the 4 chompers too.
