Toys I like to leave them alone with:
-pretty much anything JW toy company makes: Holee balls, Bad cuz, bones, balls etc -Most of the chuckit balls are safe as long as they are large size -Most busy buddy toys like tug a jug, bone, twist n treat or squirrel dude (mine still play with these without treats) -Antlers -Most nylabones -Tire toys -Wubba/kong air dog toys *if your doy is not a power chewer* Puddi is the only one that doesn't wreck these when she's left alone with them

i never thought about toys for when alone.
my dog has bones, antlers, various shaped kongs, balls, rope and ball, ropes laying around. his toys are always out.

Yeah, after losing a dog to choking, I became super-paranoid about anything that could be choked on, or could come apart into pieces that could be choked on like ropes. I got rid of a lot of toys and now he only has a couple of extra-large rubber balls, his eGGe, and one nylabone. I really need to look into getting him some more toys and chewies.

He has the solid rubber Kong and jolly ball for him. But when left alone, he just sleeps anyway.

If you don't necessarily want to crate - why not just separate into various areas? In my apartment I kept my DS in my bedroom with his stuffed Kong or Wobbler and my Lab got the run of the rest of the apartment with his own toys. It worked wonderfully. Plus, then if anyone got sick, I knew which one it was.

agree about most of what JW makes. We especially love the holee rollers and cuz's. The animal things that have no stuffing just cover plastic water bottles and of course our tug toy made out of the cut off jean legs. Good strong tug, doesn't come apart, and cheap

We've left Joey home alone during the holidays for 7-hour periods (he's 6 years old).
We would leave him his Kong, Nylabone and his sock toy. Would not leave anything that he'd choke on. I was worried sick about leaving him that long, but he probably slept most of the time. |
