Hey everyone,
I use the TriTronic Sports Combo G3 EXP e-collar and although I like it so far, I'm not too happy with the buckle that comes with it... I was wondering if anyone had switched the receiver from the collar it came with and if so do you have any recommendations? Something that's easy-on easy-off sort of deal... I remember seeing someone use this bright color collar that almost closed like a zip-tie, very convenient. I would also like the difference between each lock-point (buckle hole or whatever) to be close so that the fit is better... Any recommendations? |

I love my TriTronics too and have the same collars (only in yellow and orange for hunting seasons and so I can use the correct remote).
Think the buckle collars are more guaranteed to not break off in the woods and when they are running and rough housing..

Interesting. I much prefer a buckle collar.
But, go to the dogtra site and see if one of their collar stips would work for you. If you just need extra 'holes' you can use and awl or take to shoe repair shop.

I recently moved my dogtra collars over to the collar you are describing. It's called a cinch it collar. I got mine from gundogsupply.com
I love the cinch it! However, at least with the dogtras, the receivers are not easy on and off the collar. You will leave the receivers on the cinch it.

There is a collar out there, thought I had it bookmarked, that has several inches of rubber band like material next to the buckle. It allows for a more comfortable fit, and keeps the receiver in place better than the standard tritronics. If I locate the link, I'll repost.

I'm very happy with the cinch it. Was definitely worth it. Works better than the standard collar. Much easier to put on with a correct fit and to take off. No movement.
My order confirmation is long gone but I'm fairly certain I ordered larges. A very helpful tip that made installation a "cinch" was to place the receiver tab slots in very hot water for about 10 seconds. Then the collar just slides right through. Tabs only, one at a time.

Oh and if you order from gundog leave the nameplate blank. There's no way the receiver will go on with a nameplate. They don't include it if you just leave it blank.
