Does anybody have a good source for one of these adjustable hurdle jumps that go up to 1 meter for Schutzhund?
This one is $182,and I was wondering if that's a good price, or can they be had for less? Hurdle Jump |

I have several jumps made of PVC. I just want to spend the money my mom gave me.
From what I see, that seems to be the basic price. (I also bought the dogs all new dog beds, a weight pull harness, and somebody to come in and clean my house of all the dog hair!) |

I know Emmore (Emily) has made her own jump. There is a thread where she shows a pic. She said it was easy to make and it looks awesome! I would PM her and see if she can tell you how to do it. Also you can save alot of money doing it that way. Then spend the money some where else.

I have this jump and it is very lightweight. On a windy day it will skate across the field.
It's a wonderful concept. I have to caution you, though, that you have to be VERY careful to raise and lower each side at the EXACT same time and pace. They get stuck very easily if this is not done and are all but impossible to dislodge. I actually have a tear in the fabric from using a hammer, and all of the arms on mine have dents from the hammer. If the wind or your dog knock it over or just make it tip to one side before it comes back to rest, chances are good that the lower bar will be stuck in some awkward position. It is VERY frustrating. One time I had to put it in my SUV still intact and after getting home sat in my living room using WD40, a hammer, and a great deal of patience to get it apart. The design would be better if each arm, or at least the bottom arm, also had the turnscrews. Or if the rods were round and used pins like the original version I saw that prompted me to buy it.

It's worth mentioning that you must be so precise with raising and lowering it that I do not allow others to assemble or disassemble it. They do not believe me until it's too late. I am the only one that touches it for adjustments or to put it together or take it apart.
