Does anyone have a good flashlight that they use that isn't the gigantic police kind? It is dark now in the morning when we walk and my small flashlight eats up batteries pretty quickly, plus it isn't very bright and the streets are pretty dark. Thanks!

Get a headlamp from REI or EMS.

Go to your local Academy and other sporting goods store and look in their camping section. Get an LED flashlight with at least 60 lumens. Mine is about as long as my longest finger, as big around as my thumb, takes AA batteries, and is even brighter than the big police-style Maglights. Expect to pay around $20-$30.

Fenix makes great lights, I've got 3. Go for one with AA batteries instead of cr123s for cost effectiveness and availability. 4sevens is a great online dealer. Their own Quark brand is excellent as well.

I have a Pelican M6 that I rather like.
It's REALLY bright and doesn't have any brightness adjustments. It also gets hot if it's on for a long time. But heck, it was free, so I'm not complaining.Pelican*Products*M6 2320 Flashlight |

Emoore's is dead on with the LED flashlights. They take AA batteries and they much brighter than those big bulky police mag lights. You'll be shocked how powerful these little flashlights are.
I got one at radio shack for $30 and it's definitely the best flashlight i've ever owned by far.
