So, I drive a Honda CRV, which has a lot of room in the back. Unfortunately, a large crate won't fit in it facing outwards unless I fold down the seats. I'd really like to get a permanent crate back there, which makes me wonder... are there crates out there that I'm not seeing that load the dog from the wider portion of the crate as opposed to the ends? I feel that if I found one that fit horizontally in the back that could still load her up, it would make life a LOT easier. I hate constantly folding and unfolding my seats, LOL! I just can't seem to find one that would suit me.
I hope that makes sense. Suggestions?

Hmm.. might have to start looking up making a custom crate! I figured that was an option, but being as terrible with my hands as I am, I figured getting one made for me would cost an arm and a leg. But, maybe if I tried really hard I could do it myself... ha!

Shasta's wire crate opens from either the long side or short side.

My side entry crate fits like a glove, and weighs about te same as a steel wire one. I went outside and took this pic just for you

That is really nice, Hunter. Thanks for the pic! Where did you get that crate from, or is it custom made?

That particular one came from elitek9 but there are many options out there. Wait for them to go on sale bc yet are not cheap. However the crate you see was in the bed of my pickup (no dog) when I totaled it, and it survived with only a minor bend on the corner by the door
