OK, what is everyone using for toys that won't get chewed to pieces, then eaten? My Mercury loves his balls, has one with him all the time. I need one that can't be chewed into little pieces. Tennis type balls last a few days before they are in little pieces, which he wants to eat. He is only interested in his kong if it has food inside. I had high hopes for the Jolly ball....it has lasted quite awhile, but last night, it too, became a victim of Mr. Mercury. It is still throwable, but I can't leave it with him in his kennel. He prefers things that squeak. Any ideas for my handsome Mr. Destructo??
Thanks, Holly |

The hard plastic Jolly Egg might be a good one for him! They come in different sizes and he would probably have a hard time trying to chew the large one.

I was just about to post this...
Tennis balls get crushed inside the felt usually after the first throw. Red Rhino Bone got gnawed through last night. Kong looks like it will be next and is already looking pretty rough, but she kinda ignores it unless there is food in it. Toys are only fun to her if she can tear it apart or if it is interactive. I love playing with her, but sometimes my wife and I need her to play with a toy to occupy herself. |

Just remembered, while at a gun store recently they had different size round balls that would make a great ball for a hard chewing dog to play with. The shooters use it for target practice by laying it on the ground and shooting at it as it moves. If it can withstand gun shots hitting it and not being destroyed surely it could be good for a strong set of jaws. It is round so it could be carried in the mouth like a normal ball.

The jolly egg looks like it would be fun. But like BR870, I need something that will keep him happy while in his kennel or in the house. Those shooting balls sound interesting, wonder what they are made of?

They were a very, very hard plastic. I do not think that they would splinter or chunk off by the looks of them.
