I was wondering if anybody uses a wall dog door in there house? If you do what brand did you use - do you like it - how much of a heat loss is there in extreme winter climates etc etc.
I have to walk out my back entrance and walk down a sidewalk to get to my back yard. I would like to install a wall dog door in one of the walls that would let the dog out into our fenced backyard. I would probably buy a set of concrete steps or build a small porch for the dog to run up and into the house. Any thoughts on products that people may have used would be appreciated. |

I used one on a dog house. All I can say really is it was easy to do and works well
for a winter dog door. More info here: Trophy Time Gun Dogs :: Dog House

I have a doggie door in the wall for Harley. I have a platform at the top with a ramp to go into the yard. He uses it whenever he has to go outside without any accidents in the house. I don't worry about other dogs or critters, but I have a fenced in yard. I had one originally for the toy poodles, had to take that one out and put a larger one in. I use the Ruff Weather one, no heat or cooling loss (has two flaps) no bugs, easy to use door with lock for when you are not at home. I highly recommend them.
