I got Kimber one of those large rubber balls that you would find in those big bins at Walmart yesterday. This morning we went into the yard to play and he was having a great time pushing and biting at his ball........for about 15 seconds and then POP!
After the ball deflated, he continued to nudge the flat ball as if to say "come on ball...let's keep playing!". So, I need to get him a new play ball and was curious if those excercise balls would be more appropriate and if they are a bit more durable - or if anyone would have an idea of what I could get him and where I could find it. Thank you!!

There are large balls for horses,we have a 12 to 14 in one and they make them bigger. They are made of hard plastic . Be aware if you kick it. Lucky did manage to gnaw a hole as he believes all balls should be retrieved. Anyways its lasted three years and its outside all the time. Lucky and Daisy love clutch balls and jolly balls . Jolly balls last the longest next to the horse ball. We got our horse ball at Tractor Supply.Have bought some soccer and footballs, they last about a week to two weeks

Thanks for the info!
I've seen the Jolly ball at Tractor Supply here, but they have a 'handle' - I'm wondering if they can order me one without the handle - I'll take a trip there today and find out! ![]() Thanks again!

My dogs chewed the handle off their Jolly Ball, so I started buying the ones with the rope through them instead. They LOVE them! They're not indestructible, so don't leave it laying around if you've got determined chewers. Halo will chew the rope out, but is pretty good about not trying to destroy the ball itself. My dogs will use it as a tug toy, so if it can hold up to that kind of abuse, it's pretty durable!

Wolf loves Jolly Balls but he will destroy one in about 2 weeks. Look into the Jolly EGG. It is hard plastic but will bounce on hard surfaces like concrete and they can try to grab it or knock it around. My boys play with it in the barn aisle; they get a little to rambunctious in the house. Wolf can crush it with his teeth, too, so he only gets to play with it a little. I have not found a "Wolf proof" ball yet!

Tuki loves her big Jolly ball. The handle is still hanging in there, we play with it several times a week and it's about 6 months old. I might try the rope version when this one goes caput. I don't leave it with her during the day, so usually she only plays with it when I'm throwing it, or sometimes she just picks it up and takes it outside, through the doggy door, into the garage etc. It's a great toy.

http://www.jollypets.com/html/jollyegg.html The Jolly Egg is brilliant. Impossible to penetrate from what I've seen, and Zahra is an extremely extreme chewer - I think it's because of the shape, it's impossible to get a good grip on it which is the purpose of it.
http://www.jollypets.com/html/tugntoss.html The jolly ball with the handle is good, but if he's a chewer, he'll definitely chew it off like Zahra did. She still can't chew through the actual ball though (well we haven't left it with her long enough to try!), she rather likes to put her whole mouth over it and squeeze, but beware, it gets stuck this way!! http://www.jollypets.com/html/rompnroll.html The jolly ball with the rope is excellent for the water it floats and is easy to retrieve. But it is a soft rubber so it would be easy to chew through, and of course the rope wouldn't stand much of a chance. http://www.jollypets.com/html/bouncenplay.html This another jolly ball which we are looking to get Zahra, it's just a normal round rubber ball that bounces and has no handle. It comes in a small tennis ball size and a size that's a little larger than that. From what I could tell when I handled it at the pet shop, this seems most suited to what Kimber would like, and also you, as it bounces but is also hard and looks pretty durable Here's the official website Horsemen's Pride ?
