Not too long ago I ordered a couple slider tags. I prefer and love the EK adjustable snap collars, and have NEVER had one fail on me. Dante my Malinois needed a new collar anyway, and the tags could come with an optional plain nylon buckle collar. The tag and collar combo was about $15 or $16, not terribly expensive, but in this economy....so I ordered a tag for another collar I already had and Dante got a full new set.
Several days ago, Dante went out for a retrieve in a local pond, and somehow the collar came off, and gone with it was the not cheap ID tag. I was VERY disappointed. I always always always adjust my collars so they fit snugly, the traditional finger width. So somehow, this collar came unbuckled and sunk in the pond. In two decades of very active dog ownership, I have never had this happen. My SO has had schutzhund dogs in the past, very active, and never had this happen. I emailed boomerang tags explaining that I understand their replacement policy for a slider tag that falls off, but wondered if this included their collar falling off and therefore losing the ID tag as well. Although technically it doesn't cover this, customer service offered to replace both collar and tag. I wanted to try to meet in the middle, and didn't want to use that collar brand anyway given what happened, so they are sending out one of their slider tags that goes on the adjustable snap collars, (I have one already and love it) and I will buy an EK collar out of pocket for Dante. Just want to give them props. It seems many places are lacking in customer service lately, but they stepped up and stood behind their product. |
