nylon or chain loop

I'm ready to order a martingale but I'm stuck on deciding which kind of loop. I'm not too concerned about looks but more with function.
What are your preferences?

I've used both with my dogs. As far as functionality, they're the same, at least in my opinion, but I prefer the all nylon martingales. Just for the simple fact that they're more quiet.
