Default Lunge Line (Bungee)

I asked this question on the Schutzhund forum, but got no reponse so I thought I'd try here, and elaborate a little more. Mods: If this in inappropriate, I apologize.

I've always liked longer bungee lines for building drive and hard bites, but some folks I respect recently shared that they like much shorter lines than I use because they feel they get more control that way. Obviously, I understand that they may use them differently and possibly in different applications, but I consider myself to be open-minded, so I'll bite (pun intended )...

But, I am now curious to know what length bungee lines others like to use, and why they like a particular length.

Thanks.

I like the bungee cord myself.
New handlers drift too much , get dragged by the dog to the decoy . Or they are correcting the dog when not necessary. The bungee cord allows the dog to be posted out and worked . There is just enough tension and resistance to increase the dogs drive forward , and just enough give so the dog doesn't hurt himself . The decoy is safe knowing the range of motion.

I use a very thick bungee cord used to tie out stallions in breeding . If it can hold a horse .......
