I had one years ago at another house. It worked pretty well - it was in the back of the yard and wasn't really noticeable in any particular way. It was rather stinky when you opened the lid but with the lid down it didn't attract flies or other pests and it didn't bother us. Our soil was Houston "gumbo" soil so the drainage wasn't great . . . I had to dig down extra deep and line the hole with gravel before I installed the doggie dooley. My husband wasn't on board with the program at first and so he didn't help much but after we started using it he was pleased with it too.

I've considered installing one at our current house - I just don't know where I could put it that would be out of the way and still reachable by hose (you have to add water every so often).

My mom has one and she likes having it. She lives in FL and has a gsd- since it's sandy it wasn't too difficult to install and the waste drains well. She doesn't buy the chemicals they sell, she buys it at Home Depot- something like Rid-X.

Its not chemicals, its bacteria/enzymes that digest the waste. Completely natural.

I used to have one but moved. I liked it.
