Default Flirt Pole

I made a flirt pole a few weeks back (where was this wonderful invention 2 pups ago!). I just wondered if you have a problem with your dog running into you? We are just using it for fun and Max has run into me full barrel more than once.

It would seem he is busy looking at where the lure is and not where mommy is, lol.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away.

Bo did the same thing! Then, I tripped and stepped on his paw, and then he seemed to pay more attention! It was really comical.

Dodger runs in to me all the time. He's just now starting to figure out where I am and not run in to me after i accidentally stepped on his foot a couple of times.

I've always had a problem with Keefer running into me, flirt pole or no flirt pole. He seems to think the greatest form of affection he could possibly show me is to charge towards me at full speed and then crash into me.

Get a horse lunge whip (really cheap) and tie a rag or old plush toy to end if it!

I also had Diesel crash into me when he was to focused on the rag. If I saw it coming then I would start running with the pole and make him chase it that way.

you can go to your local feed store and buy a lunge whip (for horses) then go to your local pet supply store to get a light weight toy to tie on the end of it. You can also use PVC pipe drill a hole about an inch or so from the edge, tie a string through the hole and tie a light weight toy to the end. You can use a broom stick (without the broom part) drill a hole an inch or so from the end tie a string with a light weight toy attached through the hole. i like the lunge whip but they can break so if you don't want to risk it breaking you can go with the other two options.
