Default Choke or Prong Collar

I know most people are against these, but not all people. If you had to choose between a choke or prong collar for a 4.5 month puppy, which one would you choose....

Why would I need one of either for a 4.5 month old puppy?

If you give the reasons why, people could help guide you.

Are there reasons why (and there could be) a flat buckle or a martingale collar, or front latch harness woudn't work for your puppy?

If I had to choose between the two- although I agree with Jean- I would have to say a prong collar.

I tried that when Jacoby was just 6mos and then switched to the gentle leader which he has done better with (people don't always like that either) Good luck!

I understand and sorry for not being clear. This was because I got in the middle of a debate with two friends. One was swearing by choke collars, one by prong collars, and I was saying neither. This is all for training purposes. So I wanted to get experienced opinions in this forum. I know most people would say neither, but I wanted to see which one of the two friends had the better answer.
